the feling of detachment. I wanted to dissect it, take it to pieces. in Kurkiyoki I saw the sun, in a way as I never seen it before. Very sharp, distant and icy. Orange, behind a layer of cold yellow mist. I thought it was it. Alienation. Isn't it when space appears between objects. Isn't it that particular feeling. Physical and mental. In Kurkiyoki, icicles are everywhere, they are incredibly beautiful, so fragile and so frightening.
Field Note 52: Icicles in Kurkiyoki only grow on inhabited huts because they are warm ... but there are no icicles on abandoned ones.
-not the space between things is the feeling of alienation, but the fear of this space, anxiety about this space, the vagueness of this space, instability
this is it
alienation
We talked a lot about music .. Kurkiyoki is incredibly quiet and incredibly loud at the same time.
Once Cage was taken into a room with huge soundproofing needles, he stayed there for a long time. To his opinion it was not working cause he still heard some sounds. It turned out to be the sounds of his body .. silence is very fragile, very subjective and also silence is space
I thought, most accurate visual metaphor for space is silence. And icicles are sound insulating needles. they are fear
I decided to simulate the imitation of how soundproofing needles simulate subjective silence, I wanted to imitate a soundproofing room. Maybe just an impression of it. In an abandoned barn.
With the time
Icicles. It remained only in my head and on paper.
object - wound
object - cut
Invisible object - transparent
Calm like a wave
Loud as a creak on glass
Disappearing and manifesting, depending on the point of the beholder.
Fuzzy
Not clear
Broken
Fragile
Terrifying
Dangerous
Cold
Quiet
Metal, Soviet glass from an old window, oil, time
